#28 Exploratory Curricula

These curricula have been mainly developed by a science teacher, Mao-Cheng Lin, and his team at Guang-Wu Junior High School, Shinchu City, Taiwan. The core ideas are to utilize a variety of environments as learning platforms to promote students' science learning.

In addition, they have an official blog (in Chinese) for detailing the past and ongoing events. Currently, the curricula include a variety of exploratory activities such as

* Mountain climbing (English subtitle available, see below)
* Faraday Bike- Bike traveling
* River tracing (English subtitle available, see below)
* Ocean education (Scuba diving)

#19 Group Discussion- Weather Group

Please use this Post to share ideas and resources on the issue of Weather.

Here are some example that I obtained from my colleague in Taiwan.
The tasks that the teacher provided for his student are:

(1) What do you observe (at least two points)?
(2) Guess/ hypothesize the story of the event qualitatively and quantatively.
(3) Expand one of your observation/ hypothesis into a research study, i.e. setting up a topic, collecting data, analyzing and discussing the results.
